Small Business Advisory Group: Offers business owners an opportunity to learn how to manage the challenges and successes that all business owners face. Confidential, peer-to-peer discussion on business growth, cash flow, human resource issues, marketing, sales and operations strategies. Open to members who are business owners, executive sales and entrepreneurs. Meets 4th Thursday of the month, 9:30 to11:00 am, BWCC office.
Foundation Annual Gala Committee: Help organize this event that raises money for area high school student scholarships and other educational programs. Meeting dates vary, contact the BWCC for next date.
Government Contracting Council (GovCon): Assists members in doing business with federal, state and local government agencies by providing information, education, and networking opportunities related to government contracts.
Professional Development: Join us to discuss practical ways to use your membership. Members come together to enhance networking skills, share best practice ideas and learn how to build lasting relationships. Meets 1st Wednesday of the month (no meeting July/Aug), 8:30 to 9:30 am. BWCC office.
Legislative Committee: Members develop and maintain relationships with elected officials at the local, state, and federal level, working in cooperation with the Maryland and U.S. Chambers. It analyzes proposed legislation and keeps BWCC members informed. Contact the BWCC office for meeting times.
HR Exchange: A group idea exchange that discusses workforce hiring, maintenance and retention best practices, and learns about workforce resources in the region.This is a very intimate, interactive event that is more of a discussion than a presentation, although presentations may be included. These events are geared toward BWCC members who work in an HR capacity and/or fill open positions within their company or is in business to assist job seekers. Non BWCC members (guests) are encouraged to attend to see one of the many values the BWCC delivers. Attendees are business owners, human resource professionals, managers, recruiters, resume writing consultants, Workforce Development Organization representatives, etc. Meets 1st Thursday of the month, 8:30 to 10:00 am, BWCC offices. Women In Business (WIB): WIB is a network of professional women - entrepreneurs and business leaders - working together to support women's success in business. We accomplish the goals of our group through networking, educational events and strategic partnering. WIB meets quarterly on the 2nd Friday of each month from 8:30 a.m to 9:30 a.m. Locations may vary, refer to BWCC Event Page.
