"SECURITY CLEARANCE 101"
Learn the process, the requirements and the reality of security clearances.
Guest Speakers:
- Merton W. Miller, Deputy Associate Director of the Center for External Affairs for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management´s (OPM) Federal Investigative Services (FIS)
Mr. Miller will address the security investigation process and data requirements.
FIS is the largest provider of background investigations for the Federal Government.
- Don Dereberry, DISA Chief of Security
Mr. Dereberry will address the adjudication process and granting clearances.
The agency requests the investigation and is responsible for the adjudication.
- FISD, DISA & NSA Representatives
These representatives will jointly conduct a question and answer session.
NSA Chief of Industrial & Acquisition Security, Anthony Lougee will address
NSA´s clearance processes and how it differs from other agencies.

* Inclement Weather Policy:
In the event of inclement weather during which both Howard and Prince George’s County schools are closed (not delayed), any activity (meetings/events) of the BWCC or the BWCC Foundation scheduled to occur prior to 12:00 noon is canceled,
and if appropriate, will be rescheduled.
For events on weekdays after 12:00 noon and on weekends, BWCC activities to
occur after 12:00 noon on weekdays and at any time on weekends will be evaluated
on a case-by-case basis.
